Yellowstone

Go during the winter or fall, when less people will be there. We went in the spring, and it rained a lot which drove some of the people away. The geyers are a little less prominent with a lot of fog or rain, but still very beautiful. I have heard a lot of people that have complained about it not being as spectacular as they imagined— maybe because they didn’t take the time to learn anything while they were there. My suggestion is to go with someone that can enjoy the peace and quite of being in nature, and don’t go with a huge agenda— take the time to read the information about some of the natural wonders there so they mean something more to you, and if you like wolves in the slightest, go to Lamar Vallely at dusk of dawn. We were able to hear them howling (but I found out it is against the rules to howl with them!).

And what ever you do, remember it isn’t a zoo. The bison and bears and every animal there are not posing for your photos— they are watching you, wearily, and will defend themselves or their babies if they feel threatened— give them space!!!
