El Molinitos, Tucson

Yummy food!!!

My husband and our families all love to eat at El Molinitos. They even catered our wedding in 1995. The sampler plate is a good thing to get the first time you go. It is just like it sounds: a little sampling of about 4-5 items from the menu.

In December 2006 we also had my in-laws 50th anniversary party in the patio section. Wonderful service and still great food!!

Tohono Chul Park, Tucson

It was a beautiful day for a wedding!

My husband and I were married in the park in May 1995. The weather was wonderful and the landscaping could not have been more perfect. We also like to go to the park once a year to watch the night-blooming cereus bloom. The reason we only go once a year is because these particular plants only bloom one time each year! There are hundreds in the park. Quite a sight to see!

Meditation Garden Above The Target Practice Area, Los Angeles Police Academy

When I was younger...

My father was with the LAPD for 30 years, starting in 1962. One time, in the early 70s during the annual picnic, my older brother, my younger sister, myself and a few other cops’ kids decided to bypass the nice swimming pool opened for the day, and we went “swimming” in the little pools. Of course, we got caught and kicked out.

Years later, at another picnic (President Bush made an appearance while running for re-election) my sister and I merely observed the pools but remembered the fun!

Finally, in 1992, my father retired from the LAPD and his retirement party was held in the area at the foot of the pools. It was very serene and a nice way for my dad to leave the department.
