i visited japan for 10 days with my high school wind ensemble six years ago, and i must go back! i had the opportunity to stay with a wonderful host family in kofu, as well as spending a few days in nagoya and tokyo. winding through the beautiful green mountains for hours on the way to the next destination was amazing. i loved the experience and have been wanting to return ever since. japan is a truly magical place.

beautiful mountains with many great religious sites to visit. a giant stone statue of laozi tucked into the wooded hills is my favourite.

...oklahoma is indeed worth visiting. IF you know where to go.

yes, you can quite easily drive straight through it without seeing anything of interest, but you could make the same cursory observation of anything in texas west of ft. worth if you didn’t realise places like palo duro canyon and big bend existed.

it’s true, oklahoma wouldn’t be on my top 10 list, and it isn’t a state where you can trip over fun things to do and beautiful natural scenery at every step, but these things do exist. you just have to know where to look.

the best place, in my opinion, to visit is northeast oklahoma. this is where the trees and lakes appear! grand lake o’ the cherokees is particularly nice.

Sailing here is wonderful (especially when the sun comes out!) and the sunsets are gorgeous. This area is a truly lovely bit of England.

this is a beautiful place in the shadow of mt. fuji. i stayed with a host family here and had an amazing time. seeing the snow blowing off the top of the mountain in wispy clouds is a sight i will never forget.
