Harvard Film Archive, Harvard Square

Great films.

They show a large variety of films. For the past year they have been showing many of Wong Kar-Wai’s films, I highly recommend them. They show some contemporary films as well. Often times the films are part of some larger theme. On occassion they will have people from the film come talk about it (directors/producers/actors…)

There is a student discount as well.

Museum Of Fine Arts, Roxbury

Good film exhibits

Saw all of Maurice Pialat’s films there, only opportunity to see them really, unless they eventually make it to DVD. MFA was first to screen them in the USA. Nice place to walk around both inside and out by the river.

Toad, Cambridge

Best local music and Guinness

A tiny tiny bar and venue for local bands. Located in Porter Square. Max capacity is less than 60 people, forget exact number. Bartenders are excellent, as are the beers, music, and patrons. Check the official website for schedule http://www.toadcambridge.com/ . Restaurant next door, Christophers, has great food too (including a great home-made veggie burger).
