The homeland. Definite places to visit: borderlands and Mt. Glenshee. Oh, to be a reiver.

I’ve met some Tajiks and they are some of the happiest people I’ve ever met. That whole region of the world interests me, but I would love to see my Tajik friends in their homeland.

I have some extended family from Pakistan and I would like to hang out with them more and i would very much enjoy visiting Pakistan with them. If I could ever afford it.

The Elliot clan were border reavers up until the time of the combined kingdom under James. And though they likely did not live near the wall while it was being built, I have a desire to see the land of my ancestors.

Ometepe (the volcanic lake island) is worth visiting. In Managua, go to the Casa de Los Mejia Godoy on a friday or saturday night for a charming nicarguan folk concert. Watch your pockets. Haggle on every price. Spend time getting to know locals, especially outside of Managua. Ocotal and the entire province of Nueva Segovia has a wonderful rural flavor to it. In Ocotal or nearby Somoto, get a local to direct you to Somoto canyon. If it’s dry season, try to get out to Wiwili on the Rio Coco. Any road there will be bad, but the Jinotega side is gorgeous. In fact, the province of Jinotega is arguable the prettiest in the nation. A group of friendly missionaries and other ex-pats meet for Christian worship sunday mornings at km 12 Crta Vieja a Leon, Managua.

New year’s Eve, 2007 will be the 10 year anniversary of the founding of Melange. Two members of the group currently reside in New York and an anniversary sounds like just as good an excuse as any to visit the Big Apple. I hope that the 4th member will consider coming, too. Melange.
