England, Great Britain

Something to consider...

While I would likely visit first if at all possible, I’ve considered off and on the possibility of living in England for a time. It isn’t exactly something that appears to be on the immediate horizon (if there really is such a thing) but here’s what I just found out:

Because of my heritage (grandfather was British) and maybe even being Canadian (Commonwealth Citizenship) I might qualify for some kind of ancestral visa that would allow me to enter the country for a period of time (maybe 4 years, I haven’t read enough yet) and not require an actual work permit to be employed! Compare this to the hoops I had to go through to work in the US for a short period.

It’s an intriguing concept that I thought I would share. :)

England, Great Britain

Ancestral Home

Like many people, when tracing family history, England is the first place that shows up that isn’t Canada. My paternal grandfather was born in England and all of my Salvation Army heritage (family and organisation-wise as well) comes from England. I have friends there (as well as family I’ve never met, and wouldn’t know by name!) and consider this a MUST DO on the list.

Savannah, Georgia

Apparently, this is "my" city

I did an online test (emode.com I think) and found out that this is “my” city. So how can I not go to “my” city? Besides, it’s in Georgia and is on the ocean….. it sounds like it just might be “my” city. :)
