Hallstatt was one of the birthplaces and centers for Celtic culture during the Bronze Age. I’d love to see this beautiful town nestled between mountain and lake and experience the millenia-old culture. The cemetery is one of the richest ever found.

What person interested in this culture wouldn’t love to visit Hallstatt?

Read about Carmel and this mission in a YA series by Meg Cabot called “The Mediator.” Wonderful series dealing with the paranormal aimed at teens. Now that I know it really exists, I can’t wait to visit the mission someday.

Well, it’s worth visiting I guess if you have family there. It’s not an impressive town (I live in the next one over), but it doesn’t deserve a “Not Worth It” rating….

If you need gas or something, it’s a good place to stop before you hit KC.

An absolute MUST VISIT for travelers. There’s no way to describe this gorgeous natural wonder, you have to see it for yourself. The Badlands alone are worth any long trip across the plains to get to.

I went a few years ago and desperately want to visit again now that I have some more perspective.

You don’t grasp the power of this site until you’ve actually stood in its shadow. It wasn’t a destination on the trip that took us there, more of a side note that we visited on a whim. SO glad we did. Definitely someplace you want to check out if you get the chance.

Drove through on a family vacation. While it’s not the most exciting place in the world, it’s certainly got some redeeming qualities.

Amazing place that gives you a perspective on the history of our country. See the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier. It’s a tear-jerker.
Take some time for a quiet walk and contemplation of what has been given up for our freedom…
