okay, maybe i am not as astute as i would like to think i am, but i had no idea that the sewer museum would smell as seriously narsty as it does, nor that i would really be able to witness the flowing sludgy reality of tons and tons of raw sewage, complete with condoms and toilet paper. the best thing, though, about the museum is the preoccupation with representations of men lowering enormous balls into poop chutes. seriously: in the gift shop they even have the kind of pen (the kind often found in truck stops) that usually depicts a lady’s clothes falling off. but here, when you turn it upside down, a man puts his ball into the poop chute.
overall, this is great if you like raw sewage. but be prepared for the stink.

it’s the venice of the u.s. in spring, there’s Fiesta, and flowers everywhere. beautiful.

this is one of the most amazing places i’ve ever seen. the biggest tide pool in the world, too. after trying to walk in the tiny streets with million of other tourists, leave the island and go rent bikes; the country side around it is wonderful to ride around in (but watch out for sheep poop!)

the “whooo” feling is severely undermined by the distance from which you can view the henge—and behind a chainlink fence. you can see it better in pictures.

excellently preserved artifacts, the grounds are amazing. in spring flowers (and snails) are everywhere. get up early in the morning to go there, though—the last boat back is in the afternoon and it takes 3-5 hours to walk all around. and pack a picnic lunch, beacuse its worth it!

and the good coffee, too…

it’s best to go in the summer when the weather doesn’t make you want to kill yrself and when seattle’s true beauty is revealed…

Instead of paying for the space needle, just go to the water tower in volunteer park; it’s free and gives just as good a view.

the catacombes is my favorite touristy thing in paris. when i went, though, i actually saw these british tourists tossing around skulls and taking “funny” pictures with skulls and bones. whaaat? that used to be someone’s head! if you go there, it is tempting to touch the skulls and everything, but desecrating graves is never a good thing…
