Yay, Bread and Puppet! I wonder if they still hold the festival every year? The best festival I’ve ever been to in my life. Some of my favorite memories ever.

My best friend and I kicked off our graduating summer here and had a hilarious time. So much crazy random shit happend, there’s no way to recap any of it. Suffice to say, the island is beautiful and camping there is a great experience. Even the frigid showers are welcome after a shade-less summer day at the beach. We were fried. Good times.

I lived in Nags Head for 4 years, some of the most amazing years of my life. I had an apartment 2 blocks from the beach and could run to the ocean in the middle of the night and fall asleep to the sounds of the waves. I go back about once a month with my boyfriend, but it doesn’t feel quite the same. When I lived there I didn’t really have many friends, and now when I go back it’s run, run, run, party and socialize. I miss the stillness and balance I felt there on my own. I consider my time there important and pivotal in my development as a person.
