Most Beautiful Country out of 20

I have been to around 20 countries and this one is the most gorgeuos. Landscapes, plant life, nightlife, town life, mediteranean feel, food, nice people, cheap, growing economy, interesting history, civil war remnants… the list goes on.

Even with a language barrier, I still was able to interact with some locals there. We slept in random houses with vistas and rooms of space for 10-40 USD per night. We rented a car and drove across the entire country. The highlights of this land were Plitvice lakes, and Dubrovnik.

Egypt, Africa

Eat the pyramids

The pyramids were not the highlight of my trip to Egypt. It was everyday life around me. Culture shock. A religious-based people that wake up at 4am to yell out prayers, thousands of people at a time. A semi corrupt government that says its a democracy. The extremly nice people and the few extremely bad ones who mar the lands appearence.

If you want to see the world, understand how others live, how far behind and mixed up this world of ours is, without going to a complete 3rd world country….goto Egypt. Far behind is not necessarily a bad thing either. The Muslim people seem to intentionally be a more slowly changing society than western societies. This provides conflict, but at the same time it provide existential beauty to the world.

Portland, the city that loves to be weird

I visited this state for about 1.5 weeks and had the time of my life. I went on a business trip (my first one ever). Business was in Portland for the first 4 days, then my gf flew out and we toured the scenary 50 miles around the city (The Columbia River Gorge, Mount Hood), then drove a rental car to the beach, and even hooked up with a Highschool friend on half chance.

The state is liberal and environmental in thought. At the same time, drug use and family structures seemed to be a little too loose. Im not complaining though. Everyone there is SOOONICE. You can talk to anyone you pass and have a conversation. It is very different than what I am used to on the East coast and I really enjoyed it for the people, scenary and fresh air.
