Ristorante La Favola, Frankfurt am Main

gluten-free pizza!!

One of Frankfurt’s two highly recommended restaurants that offer gluten-free food. You can order gf pasta and lactose-free cheese and creamy sauces at any time. Every first and third weekend of a month they also have gluten-free pizza that attracts Celiacs from all over Germany. I haven’t tried it, since I came at the “wrong” weekend (thus rather had potato pizza at the Erdapfel), but I talked to the owner and she’s extremely nice and helpful. I hope I’ll soon manage to get there at pizza-time =)

Restaurant Erdapfel, Frankfurt am Main

!!!

This is an excellent AND quite affordable restaurant close to the south station (Südbahnhof). They offer potato-based traditional German, international and creative dishes. The few dishes that are not (!) gluten-free are marked on the menu. I have celiac disease and lactose intolerance (+ I’m a vegetarian!). I asked them to make a potato pizza without the sausage and with lactose-free cheese I brought. It was the first really really good meal I’d had for ages, and I’ll definitely go there again!

Andorra, Europe

Not worth the hazzle, I'd say

Andorra la Vella is quite interesting to see, the rest is just ski resorts and agglomerations of huge duty-free stores calling themselves towns. If you’re into that, ok… But be advised that, if you don’t book a return trip from Barcelona or Toulouse, they seem to do everything to prevent you from leaving the country. We tried for one whole day, starting at 4:30 am – the buses either didn’t go at the times we’d been told or they didn’t go at the places we’d been told or they didn’t go at all. We had to change our further travel plans and skip other things just because they’re not able (or willing) to provide any decent public transport. So I do think it was kind of interesting, but in the end it wasn’t worth the hazzle for me.
