Good place to stay if you are getting in on a late night/early morning flight. There are almost always rooms available. You will definitely not be getting the true Thai experience however. The place is overrun with tourists, backpackers, and locals trying to cater to them in any and all ways possible. Oh and the music at the watering holes on khao san is from 10 years ago. So if you have been aching to hear Oasis again this is the place for you.

My day often revolves around a red mango pit stop. Excellent frozen yogurt, and it’s fat free:)!

great place to visit for the afternoon. The zoo has all the usual animals and is only 1,500 won. But the real reason to come it to take a lift ride which will provide you with great views of the surrounding mountains.

Great nightlife in this area. I love the street games, especially after a few beers. Some decent restaurants as well.

you can find some great stuff here, knock-off purses and t-shirts with English writing that makes no sense. A fun experience! Cash only is accepted.

Good place for souvenirs. Be sure to bargain!

This district is spitting distance from Yongsan US Army Garrison, so there are lots of GIs stumbling about not to mention military police attempting to keep their asses in line. If you want to experience Seoul this is not the place to come. However, if you are craving Indian/French/Middle Eastern/Mexican (well kinda)/Thai/etc types of food than this is your place. But if you are only in Seoul for a short amount of time don’t bother.

definitely worth visiting! the museum is 7 floors and even if you don’t like warhol there are a bunch of other artists’ works there too. Give yourself plenty of time to see all of it!

Although the globe has been rebuilt across the river from where it originally was, it is still a great experience. A friend and I paid 5 pounds to watch Hamlet from the poor man’s uncovered area. It was great for so little money even though it started it to rain half way through.

Yes there are some cool “hippie” type stores and great restuarants, but it has also been taken over by the culture-sucking industries which afflict too many of the previous cultural centers of America. On the crossroad of Haight and Ashbury there is a gap and a ben & jerrys. Need I say more?
