I just got back from spending a week at my friend’s house here. I’m sore from all the hiking, snorkeling, eating and surfing I did there. It’s so laid back. I think I’m going to have to move here…

As far as coffee shops go, this one’s pretty average, but it’s only competition in Bonney Lake is Starbuck’s, and it’s much better than that. Free internet.

When I first went to Western, I was trying to decide what university to go to. I was in my senior year of high school, and was busier that hell. When I went to Bellingham, it was a sunny warm April day, and everyone was outside playing! It was so cool. I decided to go to Western, and didn’t regret it. Beautiful campus and a great town. Don’t let people tell you that there’s nothing to do in Bellingham. Those people never left campus.

I just bought a one way ticket! Going back in a few weeks and I’m so excited!

I discovered this shop a few weeks ago while going to the Seattle International Film Festival, and it is hands down the best coffee I’ve ever had. Get a cappachino. The flavor of the coffee is so good. Perfection!

And for $2, you can stand on a platform and look into the polluted waters that fill it. Exciting!

But I really think Ginkakuji is much nicer. So far, it’s the most beautiful garden that I’ve been to in Japan.

I’ve been here, but really, the less famous Ginkakuji is much more beautiful.

Hiroshima Okonomiyaki is AWSOME!

I had seen pictures from when my grandfather was here in the late 40’s. In his pictures, all that was left was the Genbaku Dome, rubble, and the charred remains of some trees. He never talked about his brief tour through Japan, especially his stop in Hiroshima. I think it was too much for him. Now the landscape is much different, but the dome, and amazingly, the same trees, are still there.
