Centre Island

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

S and I rode a bike and rode our way around the island for 2 hours… it was my first time to ride a bike again. My last time was friggin’ ages ago, I think I was still in elementary school. Then we rode the bike… for 2 hours! I love this place.

Shenzhen

Not worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

The only part that I hated about our Hong Kong trip, was that when we got to Shenzhen…they led us twice to two museums where at the end of the museum tour…they kept leading us to a room inside where they would sell us Jade jewelries. We were hungry, tired (mostly of their selling because by that time our pockets were already empty) and we just wanted to go back to Hong Kong.

Well, in Hong Kong, I also hated the part where every time we rode the bus, our tour guide would always sell us something new. 1st day – extra tours, 2nd day – key chains…next, our GORGEOUS pictures embedded in small Chinese plates (w/c you couldn’t resist because somehow your picture would end up really nice and you suddenly look photogenic…grr). My mom called it…like some highway robbery or something? I forgot the term…anyway I didn’t enjoy our Shenzhen tour because we didn’t get to see the nice malls and places there. After Windows of the World, they led us again to a museum and when we were hungry, they brought us yet again to another Chinese restaurant…and that awful smell and taste again…ugh.

By that time, it was already late at night, we were all hot headed…irritated…and lastly they brought us to this cheap and dirty mall when it was nearly closing time. Great. Why they brought us there? I really don’t know. And all the beggars would just bug us and would really never leave us alone because we didn’t give them something. But if you start giving away something, all the rest would go to you and expect something from you so…grr…and they speak Tagalog w/c really shocked all of us. Chinese people speaking Filipino? “Maganda!!!” “Palimos po…” Impressive…

Actually I just saw this part through the water front. I haven’t rode the ferry yet so I really need to go back to this place.

The first time I went to this place

We were ready for anything. I was excited to see the dolphins, the panda bear…everything! We rode the cable car…and the view? Indescribable. It was awwwwesome.

Victoria Peak

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

It was at night…I think this was the first stop we ever made in the tour. We rode the tram and there was a part where we were like tilted 45 or 60 degrees, the tram stopped, as if the tilting part wasn’t scary enough. You will feel like the whole thing will go down hill again. Anyway when we reached the peak, the view was OMG, the city lights was just ugh…it was awesome. The buildings…their lights and the view…WOW.

Hong Kong

(in China)

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

We were in a packaged tour. 4 days 3 nights. sigh Hong Kong is such a busy country…full of energy…full of people who are just so fashionable. It’s like when you’re in Hong Kong…you are always excited…you’re always on the go…shopping is expensive but hey…the sights are just spectacular. I’m not a big fan of their food and the smell of their food…everywhere you go there’s just that distinct smell…and when you eat their food, the taste matches the smell and it’s really weird. I’d rather eat in McDo or in some high-end Chinese restaurant - where we did eat the day we landed there. The following days…it felt like we were deprived of delicious foods, we went to Ocean Park and saw McDo - damn, we ate Big Macs. We missed the taste of burger and fries. Their version of Big Mac and McNuggets and drinks are a lot bigger than what we have in the Philippines. We also rode the cable car in Ocean Park…it was a loooong ride…the view was just breathtaking. We also saw a panda bear…we saw dolphins (but it was quite far so we didn’t enjoy that part very much), we went to this Shark aquarium…and their big big aquarium with fishes and sting rays and there was this really really huge very old fish just floating in the middle of the aquarium as if it/he/she was the “wiser” fish of them all…w/c i think it/he/she was. LOL.
