I realized I need to visit much more of the UK than London. I know very little of the countryside except stories from friends and the stories I read while growing up in the Caribbean. London is loads of fun if you can afford it. For Americans the exchange rate sucks now…

I think summer’s are great in Italy, though late spring, early fall seem best. Each city has its own schedule of fun, but there is always something happening somewhere. Venice is great for the Carnival, Biennale and in spring too. Rome is good even in December! Milan is fun though a little provincial I thought. The countryside in Tuscany and Umbria are great. I haven’t been to the Amalfi coast though:(

First 2 times I went to the north coast and the beaches of course were beautiful, the men a little aggressive, but that’s their style I guess. The last 2 times I went to the capital Kingston and it was a lot of fun, though crowded. The people were friendly though you can see there are disparities between rich and poor. The great thing there is that even the poor man walks with dignity.

Was with an now ex-boyfriend and the people were so friendly and accommodating. After a couple days we were invited to someone’s home for drinks and dinner. A very special place.

French culture is all around us in books, movies etc. Paris is amazing but the countryside is fun too, visiting vineyards, eating traditional food in small restaurants, and of course the Cote d’Azur. Late June is best to visit the south and the coast unless you love traffic and lots of crowded beaches.

It was summer, so not the high season, and even then the place was amazing, with relaxed days by the pool, wine, great dinners, mint tea. Dar Marjana in the center of the old city of Marrakesh is a real gem. Make reservations. They have a courtyard where you can have aperitifs and during and after dinner there is traditional music and belly dancers. Not at all kitschy. It is the epitome of everything good about Morocco. I’ve been twice and I definitely want to go back!

and went back last Feb for Carnival. It was amazing! That’s me on the far right of the pic. This year Carnival is Feb 4 and 5. Better get tics now or everything may be sold out. Xmas and NYE is a great time to visit too. Going next week Sunday.
