Rare Earth

A review of this place: Fun to browse

We would go Holiday shopping in Ashland and the Rare Earth was always on the list. It felt really novel to me growing up, but now-a-days its a bit less exciting. Take a look in the doors, if what you see interests you—they have lots. If it doesn’t, don’t explore further.

Greenleaf Restauarant

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Eat your lunch on the outdoor balcony upstairs and overlook Lithia Creek and enjoy great food! This is one of my favorite stops in Ashland, we always go play in the park and then have lunch at the Greenleaf.

This is a beautiful city

My mother and I stayed in this town for a week last year. It’s beautiful, the down town square is accessible, and I will write more once I find my photographs.

Les Catacombes

Worth visiting!

This was one of my favorite experiences in Paris

We descended into the gloom and walked past 3 million dead people. It’s damp and creepy and very worth taking the time to visit.

A review of this place: The Best Italian Food in Santa Cruz

Hands down this place rocks. I had the lasagna with Sunday Gravey, excellent! I also go to try the Gorgonzola Cream sauce, very very good. We had antipastos and the sautéed mushroom appetizer and soup and wine and it was all so wonderful. The best part of the whole meal: the service! It’s so rare in Santa Cruz to find good waiters and people who obviously love what they do and don’t resent you for eating in their establishment. This is a must go to.

Hula's

Love the wasabi fish preparation

with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes. Oh yum! Every thing I’ve tried there has been great. I even liked the Pineapple Wine (made from Pineapples, not grapes, and I’m not into sweet wines) and the Coleslaw (yuck! generally).

A review of this place: The old Aptos Club in it's new form

I never went to The Aptos Club in it’s heyday but this new version is quite nice. Still very young and already quite lively on the weekends, it is worth checking out. The have two good pool tables that were quite empty in the afternoon and let us practice without distractions, and when we went back at night it was hopping with people. My friends who loved The Aptos Club miss some of the atmosphere, some of the uniqueness, but the bar now (apparently) has more space and the stage is more conveniently located.

Dharma's Restaurant

Worth visiting!

Awesome food!

I love the soup and salad special with the scoop of brown rice. I also love their version of Pad Thai and just about everything else that they serve.

If you go make sure you visit the restrooms and read the newspaper clippings posted on the walls outside. Dharma’s has a humorous history of once being McDharmas and suffering through a legal battle with McDonnalds.

Bean Hollow State Beach

Worth visiting!

The cutest beach ever

There’s something about the proportions of this beach that make it perfect. It’s not too big or too small, it has sand and rock, a natural cove shape, places to fish…

It’s perfect, that’s all you can say about ti.

DeLaveaga Park

Why I want to go to this place

I have been here before for a picnic but I want to go back for the disc golf. I don’t play but I understand that it’s a world-class course and I’d like to at least walk it some time. Maybe someone I know plays and will take me along.
