Be sure to go for burgers and Bushwhackers at Stanley’s Beachside Bar. Then get a chair and lay in the sun with a cold Carib beer.

and while it has changed a lot since then, the history of the town is amazing. Walden Pond, the Orchard House (home of the Alcott family), and the Old North Bridge just to name a few. It’s a beautiful little town.

Great Italian food at Avallones – the best I’ve ever had!

Try the Balashi beer too!

The boardwalk smelled nasty and the nice hotels were booked because it was a fight weekend…

I’ve been to St. Thomas and St. John – still need to check out St. Croix and the newest addition to USVI, Water Island

Gorgeous beach

The price of admission is high, but if you are going to be in the area, it’s worth it. If you tour the house, make sure you pay the extra coin for the audio tour – it’s definately worth it. Wear your walking shoes and make sure you have plenty of time. We were there for a day and only saw the main house. The grounds were gorgeous in the spring and we wished we’d been able to see more.

And you can see for what seems like forever! Be prepared for the winds though – anytime I have been there the wind has been blowing quite hard. Be careful on the way back down that you don’t smoke your brakes though!

Lots of shops and factory outlets – Plus, NH has no sales tax!!
