Paris

Worth visiting!

Christmas / New Years 2005/6

Just returned from 8 days in Paris, we arrived on Christmas Eve and spent New Years here. Even though our knowledge of the french language was limited to basic greetings, numbers and food, we found the french people that we encounted to be incredibly polite and friendly – nothing like the “rude french” stereotype that we were partly expecting. Will definitely we returning (armed with a better understanding of the french language next time, hopefully)... we got so much done in our time there, but still so much left to do!

Cradle Mountain

Worth visiting!

Didn't climb...but took lots of photos at least!

We were actually amazingly lucky to visit on one of the few days that you can see the mountains – it was right in the middle of winter and with the snow on the top of the mountains it was just incredible to see.

Tasmania

Worth visiting!

Visited in September 2004

Took a week long holiday to Tassie in the winter of 2004. Took the ferry over with our little car and spent the time driving from one corner to the other. It was amazing how different the areas of such a little place can be – spectacular mountains (with snow!) in the north west, beaches and penguins in the east to the history of hobart..it felt like about 4 different holidays in one.

Grew up here

Spent most of our combined childhoods here in Newcastle and surrounding Lake Macquarie. Finally left a couple of years back.

Sydney

Worth visiting!

Lived there!

Lived in Sydney for a year in the middle of it all – Pyrmont. Favorite memory is the Fish Markets and the fantastic fresh sashimi and sushi everywhere :)
