You got Mount Rushmore, the Bad Lands, and Wall Drug, what else can you ask for!

The country is a wonder, I partied in Amman, got my sand in my shoes in Wadi Rum, floated on the Dead Sea, marveled at Petra and even stopped at Aqaba.

But what I hated was their airport, it sucked. I nick named that place “the funeral” for its dark, the staff is depressed, and there isn’t even a book store in the departures area!

Saudi is a great country, its huge has lots of natural wonders and the people are great once you get to know them. I always enjoyed my time in Saudi. Yet, what always gets me when I go there to visit friends, or business, or religious purposes is their strict religion codes that they enforce on the people. One that makes me hate going there is how the food shops will close during prayer time, even though the workers are just sitting and waiting and the food is ready.

I’ve had this happen to me in Mecca after a grueling pilgrimage and eating just small cold meals and my friends and I wanted to have some cooked hot roasted chicken. The guy was behind the counter, the food was on the grill, everything was ready, but he wouldn’t serve us cause it was prayer time and wouldn’t serve anyone till the next prayer call an hour from now. He said if he served us that he would get a fine from the Muttawas (religious police). It just gets to me and makes me hate the place.

So if you dont mind waiting for restaurants to closing suddenly and not serve you go and visit.

UAE is a strange country cause it really is 7 cities (Emirates) that joined to form a country and each one is totally different from the other. You got Dubai as this Vegas/Hong Kong of the Middle East, but yet you feel your in Disney World resort rather than a real city. Then you got just down the street Sharjah which will have none of the antics of Dubai in terms of the Vegas feel yet hope they can get some FDI in their area. Abu Dhabi as the main capital of the country and also the Emirate with the oil and doesn’t have to sell itself as a touristic/business center.

The country has not yet found its identity as a country and tries to be a mix of everything but at the end it is still nothing.

I never really understood peoples joy of visiting Egypt, I can’t stand the place. I avoid all trips to it, its just dirty, hectic and annoying. If you want to go to see the Pyramids make it a quick day trip, just visit it take those pictures, ride the camel then get back to the Airport and get out of there.

I also dont consider the Sinai Peninsula part of Egypt though, it is a tourist area made for just visitors and facilitate to their needs.

This state has everything tropical rain forest, desert, mountains, coast line, lakes etc.

I live in Kuwait and was raised here so have this love and hate relationship with it. One thing I can say about this place is that it is laid back really, yes we have some annoying traffic and governmental procedures at times but when you come down to it. It is a really great place to live. It is quiet, safe and has a very international crowd of people. It does get annoying trying to find this crowd and join in at times, but really if you just sit and home and complain about it, its your own damn fault.
I’ve known people who came here for just a year and been staying here for the past 12 and dont want to go back.
