“Going on J1 in June (06) Where is the best place to get job and where is the best place to live while in San Fran for Summer (Weather & nightlife inclusive)”

Nicole Hanusek answers,

I was also going to suggest craigslist, it’s THE place to find things in SF. As far as where to live goes, there are tons of places that rock – kinda depends on your pref. Potrero hill is quaint and more of a cross between city and suburb. I hear that the Mission is a great place for freeway access and some cool clubs. I like North Beach best.

“I'll be in SF with a few days to kill in three weeks. What are some 'must see' sights I should checkout. I won't have a car but don't mind public transit.”

Nicole Hanusek answers,

My favorite area is North Beach. There are tons of restaurants and cafes in that area, as well as Coit Tower, which offers a fabulous view in all directions.

“Didn't have the best time in San Fran. Want to give it another go,can anyone recommend 'hipper' alternatives to the touristy things? We are total foodies,(but don't drink!) love vintage items,rock/blues, Mexican culture and guitar/cd stores. Cheers! ”

Nicole Hanusek answers,

It sounds like you need to hang out in the Mission. Basically hit up Mission St, Valencia, 16th (between Mission and Dolores) – tons of vintage shops and other really neat stuff.

And if you want some great Mexican food try Regalito on 18th St. I also second the checking out of yelp.com.
