I was in Nandi for three days waiting to catch a flight to Vanuatu. I was not impressed with Nandi. The beach was dirty and there was trash everywhere. The kava in Nandi was of decent quality but it was expensive. The Nandi Bay Resort is a cheap and safe place to stay if you don’t mind hanging out with backpackers.Not much to do in Nandi. Plan trips to outer islands but don’t come here if it is nightlife that you seek.

New Caledonia is very mountainous and can be quite windy. If you go to New Caledonia be prepared to spend a small fortune to eat well. There is some nightlife in Noumea and there are over 200 nakamals (kava bars) to drink kava at. The beaches are beautiful. The people almost all speak French there. Nice place to visit but I don’t know how anyone can afford to live there. Definitely the most expensive place I have ever visited.
