we had the weirdest server here. he was very hushed & dramatic about the food, kind of like if shatner were a server…

still the food was all really unusual & creative & delicious.

i was rather put off by the tone of the restaurant though. it’s not very well decorated yet they still manage to be a bit pretentious. they don’t “allow” pictures to be taken of the food! feh.

& it’s always good. it’s got that small french bistro feel & some really interesting but not fussy food.

i think it’s one of the best dining deals out there.

i like the neighborhood feel to this place & the use of locally grown produce but i think the dishes are hit or miss. i had a stuffed pork chop that was rather bland but i also had the mini burgers which were fantastic.

all their desserts (yes, i tried every single one of them) were excellent.

good lord, get the coupage burger! also, the mache salad was amazing.

of course, what with original chefs leaving, who knows what’s going to happen?

seriously one of the best restaurants i’ve ever been to. it’s not a super fancy place but the food is exceptional. even though it sounds mean, get the rabbit! mmmmm, delicious bunny!

i went from waist length hair to a super short cut & that transition was made possible by ramie @ vain. she kicks ass.

this place has that cool, local, divey ambiance. the service is pretty spotty but then, it was also packed. i think the main draws are the exotic meats (which were just okay) & ed himself who just seems like a great guy.

really attractive decor & very good service.

i had a very nice chirashi lunch. not the thickest slices but a very good value.

i’ll want to go again at dinner to try some of their other things.

i’d read somewhere that the asteroid cafe used to be in a cute house in wallingford which must have been much more charming than the rather bland corporate feel of the fremont incarnation.

still, i had the carbonara & it was outstanding. i’m willing to ignore the office park setting for more of that grub.

we were trying to go to shiro’s but they were full up; ended up here instead, which i think was a stroke of luck.

yes, it’s expensive but given the quality & freshness of the fish, it’s warranted. this is the best sushi i’ve had in seattle (although i freely admit i haven’t tried all the gazillion sushi places yet).
