gorgeous old city

my aunt lives in Belgium so she took me here for the day to see my cousin and to see the sights. it is stunning. the architecture is magnificant and the little old parts of the city are phenomenal. almost like Vieux France. as well, i went to see Mannequin qui pis, and i saw the amazing courtyard where they have amazing flower displays in the summer. there was a massive concert that day, so it was full of the concert regelia when we were there. old gothic buildings with gold on them…spectacular.

Lyon, Rhône-Alpes

i want to go again

so i was just in the airport here, but i was in lyon on my way back through GB to Canada a couple of summers ago. looked pretty cool, but it was quite warm there since it was the middle of the crazy heat wave in 2003. they were pretty fun airports though and they had this little bookshop devoted to ‘La Petit Prince!’ it was great.

Stanley Park, Vancouver

cool experience (literally)

went to vancouver in the winter with my fiance to be. we went to SP cause it was a tradition in the family that he lived with to go there for a weekend with a picnic lunch and walk the whole island.

one note, it seems you can only access the park coming from the south, or maybe that was just us trying to figure it out. don’t fret though cause you can turn around and make your way in. we paid for the parking and then they came and covered the parking meter cause it was free parking for New Years. duoh…

i have to recommend seeing the totem poles (Awesome) and the stague of the woman on the rock…pretty darn cool. i didn’t go swimming (Cause it was the winter) but it looked fun. i also recommend seeing the float planes coming in to land (looks like they are going to smoke the apartment buildings) and they have gas stations ON THEWATER, as well as the Kiddie drying station which is where the swimming is. i liked it, but snice it was winter it wasn’t on.
