Grew up on and around Whidbey as my Aunt and Uncle live on Race Lagoon and we have property on Race Lagoon as well just south of Coupeville. Amazing place.

What a wonderful hotel in such a small town. This hotel has a wonderful restaurant as well as a archeological museum and is the stopping-off point for many tours of the area.

There is a village built into the cliff side here. The hike takes you from the top of the cliffside to the bottom riverbed and back up to the dwellings on the other side of the canyon. Its tough and at 10k ft elevation in the sun bring plenty of water and stop for breaks.

A small orphanage run by Noeh and Elsa Lechuga that cares for the abandoned or poor children of Madera, Mexico and surrounding towns.

Wonderful people, culture, and amazing countryside.

Such a great campus and wonderful people. I definitely suggest checking it out if you are in the area.
