Bayon, Angkor Thom

Beautiful Bayon

There are so many mystical things to tell about the bayon, that i dont even know where to begin. From a distance it just looks like a pile of grey bricks, but as soon as you come closer you can see the countless faces smiling in every direction! Supposedly the centre of the ancient kingdom, and all the smiles should be keeping an eye out for enemies and scare them away.

Whatever the specific purpose was of this temple, once you’ve been there, you’ll know without a doubt where the cambodians get there smile from ;)

Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Province

No2 city after BangKok

Chang Mai is the second city i ever visited that made me want to stay and live there. (montreal was the first in case your wondering…) It s got beautiful architecture, old city centre, night markets, day markets and beautiful surroundings. Its pretty modern as well, with everything you need as a spoiled western tourist, but it pays off to stay clear from the touristroutes and go your own way.

visit Pay more up north, and you’ll find incredible landscapes, hidden waterfalls, hot wells and natural parks for the picking!

Luang Prabang, Laos

luang prabang mystique

there’s something funny about Luang Prabang. It is the clear french influance in architecture and food, that makes this town in the middle of laos much like a sweet sleepy town in south of france. instead of the elderly playing jeus de boules, you got friendly people, night markets and beautifull temples!
