Paradise in Hana

I stayed in a Yurt in Hana, had the best massage in Hana, ate ice-cream bananas with real ice cream (from the town ice cream shop down at Hana Bay) and it was the best ice-cream banana sundae made with the great island ice cream I’ve ever had. And we had plates of food grilled by a roadside guy who had a giant grill…and it was the best food. Steak. Chicken. Sticky rice. Fish and rice. Big cold drinks. All of it mouth-meltingly great. Loved Maui, but Hana is special. Lots to tell. I can’t wait to go back and stay in the yurt again.

Lucky enough to live here for 6 years. I wrote another entry under “TEXAS” where I wrote a lot about Austin. Can’t even express how much I miss its charm and easy livin’.

WOW

Beautiful, old, dusty, astonishing… well worth a trip. Words don’t really sum up the experience. Days are HOT, but the nights are like velvet. I stood in awe at the marvels people who came long before me created. I can’t wait to return.

Texas

Worth visiting!

I really miss Texas!

I was a transplanted Northerner who was lucky to live in Austin for 6 of the happiest years of my life. I miss everything about that time: the parks, the lakes, UT and the Drag, Esther’s Follies, the food, the iced tea, Deep Eddy Pool, driving out 360, Mt. Bonnell, the Kerby Lane Cafe, the Pun-Off, Eeyore’s BDay Party, Hippie Hollow, the wildflowers, the blue bonnets, the toy store that sold only hand-made wooden toys, the bird rescuers, the friendly people, the beautiful neighborhood I lived in down off of Lamar, between 35th and 31st: the Pemberton Heights area. I wasn’t fond of the allergies, or the inferno-like heat, but Texas is a special place. I can’t wait to return.

Kiss me I'm Irish

After driving around Ireland for two weeks, it was kind of a shock to arrive in a big, dirty, bustling city. At the time (1997), Dublin was going through a huge amount of building and construction. The inner part of the city, or the part near the Writers’ Museum, was old and beautiful. A different beauty than the country… St. Stephen’s Park (I think) was lovely. People pretty friendly. Food… hmmm. Guiness Brewery was something to see.

Amazing!

We went in March or April about 10 years ago. It was one of the best vacations ever. Beautiful, magical, surreal. I can’t wait to go back.

Wien

(in Austria)

Worth visiting!

One of my favorite cities!

Vienna was the first European city I ever visited, so it has a special place in my heart. I spent two weeks there and loved every minute. The coffee, the art, the music, the people…. I can’t wait to return.

I only spent a few nights here and didn’t get to see the whole city, so I plan to return.

Greatest city in the world!

I haven’t gotten to spend much time in NYC. I feel at home when I’m there. Can’t wait to go back.
