Wish I had seen the Northern Lights by monsterious

I once visited Glacier Bay National Park with my family for a one-week vacation and ended up getting a job and staying for a whole summer. Some of my best stories come from that summer. Without that summer, I might never have ended up being convicted of Federal Fraud.

Glacier Bay is amazing. It’s one of the top places in the world to kayak. There are bald eagles and humpback whales galore and I saw bears too. Did not spot any moose. The only moose I ever saw was in Vermont.

Serengeti Plains, Serengeti

Nothing else quite like it by monsterious

One of my best travel experiences was flying over the Serengeti in a hot air balloon. Also, witnessing the wildebeest/zebra crossing of the Mara river during the great migration is a singular experience. I’ve seen it on t.v. and I’ve seen it live. Live is better.

Guerrero, Mexico

This is the place to go for whale watching. Humpbacks actually come up to your boat and let you touch them. It’s kind of crazy and I don’t know how safe it is, but hell, I survived.

Mexico, North America

Beautiful and interesting. The people are very friendly, in general. I would avoid the more touristy areas, as they tend to be kind of cheesy and like big frat parties, e.g., Cancun.

Moskva, Central Federal District

Untitled by monsterious

I visited Moscow during graduate school when I was studying in St. Petersburg. I would like to go back and see more. Red Square and St. Basil’s are amazing. If you have to choose between visiting Moscow or St. Peterburg, I would definitely choose St. Petersburg. It is a far more distinctly Russian city. Moscow is cool but it is very Western and modern in comparison.

Croatia, Europe

Will be there for the 3rd time next month by monsterious

I am 1/4 Croatian and have been there several times. I was even there when it was still Yugoslavia. I had an amazing experience there the second time. I met some 2nd cousins of mine. Their father had been captured by the Serbs and when he was finally released, he thought they were taking him out to shoot him. I am looking forward to seeing Dubrovnik again and hoping that it was not too badly damaged in the war.

Bath, Somerset

Spent a semester there in college by monsterious

I love Bath. It is a really cool city with great architecture and awesome pubs. I would like to go back sometime. It would probably be weird to see it again.

Amsterdam, Ohio

Benmark by monsterious

I was there briefly and it was rainy and grey, but I think it is a cool city. I saw the Anne Frank museum and the Van Gough museum and stayed in a very scary youth hostel. Amsterdam is a canal city with lots of tulips and I hear you can do lots of things that are against the law here. I didn’t have time to get around to anything. Learn from my mistakes.

Central Park, Manhattan

Urban Oasis by monsterious

I’m from NY originally, so Central Park has a lot of nice memories for me. It provides a nice slice of nature in an extremely urban city.
