It was perfect for me, because I spent most of my time studying. I don’t think I would want to live in Charlottesville for an extended period of time, but it is pretty charming. The town is small and once you get outside, there are a fair amount of clogged up roadways that always seem to be torn up for road work. Maybe it’s not like that anymore. The UVA campus is really beautiful. It was designed by Thomas Jefferson. There are all these little gardens around and really cool brick walls that are curvy (serpentine). Don’t see those every day!

Absolutely gorgeous coastal city. Going back next month!

I would like to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. When I was there, I learned that it’s hikable – in other words, you don’t need involved mountaineering skills. I also heard that, at the current rate, the snow will disappear from the top in less than 10 years. I’d like to go there before that happens.

I’ve lived here for 9 years and I definitely think it’s worth visiting. It’s a very active and outdoorsy city and it’s pretty cultured. Lots of small theaters, little restaurants, etc.

Not a huge history buff, but there are some cool instruments of torture to be seen.

Beautiful! It might sound trite but I sure would like to go there with someone I’m in love with. To be there in that totally euphoric early stage of a relationship would be really incredible (I would imagine).

The Charles Bridge is super cool. It has these big statues all along it. Also, the clock in the town square puts on quite a show. Not as cheap as it once was, but it’s still pretty reasonable and you can see Kafka’s house. Kafka!

I biked across Scotland once and it is truly one of my favorite countries. It’s so green and beautiful and the castles are so ancient and majestic. I definitely recommend it. Just make sure you don’t eat any of the food.
