I moved to Kerrville when I was 10 and moved out when I was 20 (this year) I hated it forever & thought it was lame, got into some trouble when I was 15 that didn’t go away until I was 18. But a few months before I left I really came to appreciate it. Its pretty unique really. Yeah Folk Fest, Wine Fest they’re worth checking out though I definitely think it gets worse – more stupid, dirty & dramatic – every year. Monkey Island is bad ass. The Tubs in Hunt. There are so many really serene SWIMMING spots in and around. There’s a lot of decent people, a lot of shitty people too (so watch out) Watch out for COPS too (“come on vacation, leave on probation” – we used to say this) The BARS are pretty cool – The Ol Watering Hole is legend. Check out The Nautalis too-its really small & kinda cheesy, but worth it. There’s a lot of kids who play GUITAR especially acoustic that amaze me. If you ever meet this guy named Andy (Andrew) Hart fucking kick him in the shins or something. FOOD - Mamacita’s of course & try the cheesecake, Rita’s Tacos downtown – the most bad ass breakfast tacos for less than $2 & around Easter, she makes Tres Leche cake…oh god! The Texas Star Coffee House (also downtown) they are so charismatic & sweet plus have really good sandwhiches. Snowflake Donuts for breakfast, I had a tab with them…really good kolaches. umm, what else…yeah. The 550 Gallery usually has some really cool pieces; a lot of stuff out of Austin.
