Beignets rock!

It’s BIG!!

I’m a native Hoosier, but just made my first visit here last weekend. It’s the biggest state park in Indiana, and quite lovely.

The park’s peak season is in the fall, and the colors must be spectacular. We were there almost at the end of the spring colors. It was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful—just the ticket for some together-time with my husband.

This is one of my favorite places, especially to photograph. Quiet, peaceful, full of shadow and light. I’ve made some great pix here, many of them in black & white. I need to go back again before long … It’s like a touchstone for me.

This is a wonderful aquarium-type place, dedicated to the native water life in southern Alabama, that kids will love!

Beautiful beach; our daughter’s first visit to the ocean …

A beautiful place, from the mangrove swamps (my favorite), to the sunsets and the colors of the water … absolutely lovely.

We had to wait a really long time to get in, then the tour was very quick and perfunctory. Would have liked to have spent more time in the house …

The changing of the guards here is just awesome and spellbinding, very moving.
