Grand Forks is a great place to raise a family. I grew up here and think that every child should know what its like to be able to run around the neighborhood freely in the summers and not go home till dark. I live in Houston now and you never see kids just crusing around on their bikes and exploring the city. For one, its just too dangerous and two parents here have their kids lives completely scheduled. Its sad really!
Grand Forks has lots to do and see. There are miles and miles of bike/hiking trails, the best college hockey stadium in the country, a beautiful college campus, art, theater, ballet, concerts, Art in the Park, coffee shops, Widman’s candy (home of the Chippers-chocolate covered potato chips), great restaurants and bars, an international airport, a decent mall and beautiful sunsets. On top of all that, the people are the most kind and warm individuals you will ever have the pleasure of knowing. They will open their homes and hearts to anyone they meet. Clean air, extremely low crime, and fields of wheat as far as the eye can see.
Who could ask for more?
The only thing stopping me from moving back is the 6 months of winter.
