i worked there for a summer and didn’t really find anything great there. it’s a small city, but nothing really great. the scenery is good and the altitude is good for cross-training (running and cycling) if that’s what you’re up for. other than that, i need to give it a thumbs down for attraction-ness-ability-sion-ery.
over 6 years agoone of the most amazing places i’ve ever been to. took tons of pictures (all on slides… yikes, it’s been that long ago!). maybe because i’ve seen Niagara so often, but this place seemed much more elegant… or serene… or something. if you want to see what it looks like on film, watch the movie called The Mission (Jeremy Irons, Robert DeNiro). this is the place that Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay meet. if you want the best view, you need to go to the Brazilian side. you can get a great steak at any number of the restaurants around there.
