Red Mountain Cafe

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to locals

I lived in Las Cruces for years and never realized how wonderful Red Mtn. truly is! Of course they have great breakfasts and coffee, and I’d go there for lunch and have their incredible burgers (Office burger is my favorite!). I finally went for dinner last time I visited and I was blown away. Their dinner menu was seasonal and had a gourmet feeling to it; seared salmon, escargot, game hens and such. Then the food came out and it was so pretty! Truly works of art. Then, the taste…everybody tried a little of eachother’s and every single item we ordered was exceptional. The atmosphere was upscale but comfortable, (not the kind of place where you worry if you use your dinner fork on your salad you’ll be taken out back and flogged.) And the prices were moderate; about $25 per plate. All I could say is I wish I’d known about this when I lived there, I would have gone at any opportunity!!!

High Desert Brewery

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

This is a small brewery that makes their beer on-site. The beer is good, the food is tasty and the atmosphere is friendly and laid-back. Sometimes they have live music, they have an outdoor patio and it’s just a nice place to hang out and have a relaxing time. It’s one of the things I miss about Las Cruces.

Las Cruces

Not worth visiting!

A review of this place: Don't go out of your way...

I used to live in Las Cruces. It’s OK but not worth making a trip to unless you gotta. There is very little to do as far as culture or entertainment, but the people are friendly and nice and the Mexican restaurants are kick-ass. I wouldn’t recommend making an extra effort to get here though, unless you are on a quest for delicious green chile.

Yellowstone National Park

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: amazing!!

I’ve been to many national parks, but Yellowstone is absolutely unbelievable. It’s beautiful and grand and there is just so much to see. It feels ancient and wild and is truly amazing. There’s so much wildlife, waterfalls, forests, geothermic activity…you can really see nature at work and it makes you realize how mind blowing nature really is; it just works.
