Corn Palace, Mitchell
A beautiful oasis in a desert of grass
I don’t know why everyone is so down on the Corn Palace. Sure it’s less of a “palace” then it is a “local basketball arena” and the only corn there is glued to the walls along with various other prairie grasses, but if you’re driving across SD there’s not really much else nearby. It’s a good excuse to stop the car a walk around a little. They also change the design every year so there’s always something new and exciting in Mitchell.
