Cyberspace, Religious/Spiritual Places
All in all, a great place. by Math R.
The landscapes tend to get a bit repetitive, but it’s definitely one of the best places to meet interesting people!

over 7 years agoI bought a photo book yesterday about Iceland, and it’s indeed incredibly beautiful, I am drooling to fly there.
CouchSurfing seems like a great plan, I have to investigate it a bit.
And I should get busy finding me some freelance gigs too!
But I guess I should wait a few years so I have a better – if still very basic – comprehension of the language (although, yes, if I really want to speak a better Japanese, the first step should be to actually start learning it ;p).
My trip to Japan will not be limited to Tokyo, although one week in the city seems to be a clear minimum. But I also want to visit the countryside, the seaside, take the Shinkansen, and so on… So, going there any less than three weeks seems clearly insufficient.
Once again, the problem has a name: money.
over 7 years agoAccording to many testimonials, from Carlos and people on the Virtual Tourist forums, Iceland is like the most expensive place in the world to travel to. Carlos himself spent something like 2000€ for one week, not including food.
But, oh, the beauty of it… It’s calling me.
How the hell am I going to find that kind of money?!

over 7 years ago… but still, HK seems like a fascinating place to me.
Culture shock, redux.
over 7 years agoSo wild…
So almost extra-terrestrial.
Ever since my friend Carlos brought back incredible pictures from glaciers and volcanic rocks, ever since I heard Björk’s telluric voice, ever since I’ve been looking for something else, I’ve known I’d fly to Iceland someday.
Fucking expensive flight, though… damnit!
over 7 years ago… back at the time when it was a french colony.
I find myself thinking quite often about this country, about Algiers, the Casbah, about the desert…
Traveling there is still dangerous though, especially for french citizens such as myself, because of the civil war between the corrupted miltary regime and the islamist fighters.
But I do hope, one day, to see the land of my father.
