During the civil war I flew via Belgarde airport to Sarajevo -> Tuzla. During this time ex Yugoslavia had a ban on flying.
So after getting off the UN chartered aircraft, I stepped out n a airport draped in silenece.
And when I say silence, I mean s i l e n c e !

It was like something from a X-files movie!

The only sound heard was the chitterchatter from birds flying overhead.

Scary!

Great Convention Centre!

Primarily talk to people in the tourist business or kids. They will have a working knowledge of English.

Cakes!
Big ones, small ones. But try them! They’re terribly, wonderfully great!

...and would never, ever come here during the holiday season again! Its crowded, bad infrastructure, lack of english language knowledge, hot and expensive.

However, during off-peak times, it will probably be just wonderful! But at present its overexploited during the big holidays.

Excellent exhibition hall, but too far away from hotels( hard to believe when talking about Singapore, buts that’s just the way it is).

...my creditcard was phished, TV in my hotel room exploded, window broke during a typhoon (it was r e a l l y wet inside afterwards!) and cockroaches all over the place.

But people are friendly and relaxed, weather’s nice and beaches gorgeous.
I would like to come back, but this time I’d use travellers cheques!

People outside central Shangahai is curious. Occassionally on the wrong side of rudeness. Only they don’t see it and it is not meant that way.

Accept it, its ok. People are friendly, pollution is terrible and you will end up wishing to come back.
