Ireland, Europe

If you are visiting Ireland…A must to add to your list is to travel to the tiny village of Ardmore in County Waterford, where the scenery is stunning. Walk around the cliffs and enjoy their beauty. See the Round Tower which was built in the 10th. Century. Take a trip out to Whiting Bay and Goat Island where there are two beautiful beaches. Also take a trip to the nearby town of Youghal in Co. Cork and pay a visit to the ancient church of St. Marys, where so many of Ireland’s great rulers are buried. And a definite trip that you must not overlook is to contact Tony Gallagher when in Ardmore and to go for a trip on the River Blackwater in his boat, and view one of Ireland’s great old houses. Children will also love this trip as Tony lets them pilot the boat and be ‘Captain’ for a few minutes! tony is a marvelous raconteur and will fill you in on the history and legends associated with this historic area and show you a ’Knight’s Templar’ site. Fantastic value for money this trip! B& B’s are also excellent in Ardmore, especially to stay with Jim & Mary Moloney in the Fountain House where you will be treated to excellent Irish Hospitality, a fascinating old house which dates back to 1820. If you require any more information please do not hestitate to contact me…but beware once you have visited Ardmore …you will want to return here over and over again!
