i get the impression that Belgium is proud of its beer, and the whole culture of beer drinking is not only accepted but encouraged and celebrated (within safe limits) rather than looked down upon

it is easy to find ways to persuade that anywhere in the world is “worth visiting” simply because everyhwere is…
in my opinion, the “not worth visiting” label should be used when in all honesty that persons time may well be better spent/enjoyed somehwere else.

the sistine chapel is beautiful. the attention to detail in all corners are especially impressive however the experience of being inside is more comparible to a cattle market than a chapel.

attractions like the sistine chapel in a city with as many beautiful and amazing aspects as roma does, and taking into account most of these aspects do not require people to queue for hours on end or be literally squashed so the vatican make as much money as mathematically possible, maybe one can begin to consider the “not worth it” label.

there is so much to see within the vatican museums and the city of roma of beauty and grace that are of comapriable and significant beauty and quality and would recommend them above this trap

Get to the Vatican no later than 7.30am or face ridiculous queues.

If theres more than one of you, there are several good coffee shops dotted around for you to take it in turns to keep eachother awake.

If you want to eat something a bit more than a kebab, don’t attempt to eat out after 9pm…

We found restuarants already closed or closing, and every place we went after was either a bit dodgy or already closed…

Take a second mortgage before travelling to Dublin. I found it much much more expensive than London. Expect a pint to be around the €5.50 mark

think of the scummiest, chav-infested towns of britain and multiply it by ten. Add a beach and some sun and some spanish police and there you have it – Magaluf.

Infact the police are the only spaniards left and naturally when they get half a chance they dont mind the odd fisticuff. one of the bouncers we came across was trained in the french legion

this is not to say you wont have a great time here.. it depends what youre after – if you want girls, alcohol, a bit of sun, more alcohol and a good hundred pubs and clubs then youre laughing.
