    Lake Louise

    Worth visiting!

But I don't recommend staying at the hotel  — 2 years ago

The 2nd through 4th nights of my honeymoon were spent at the Chateau Lake Louise (I think that was the name). It was a MADHOUSE. Fantasic and beautiful hotel in an unbelievable setting, but it felt like Disney World. Certainly not worth the 30 Hamiltons per night it cost to stay there.

However, we hiked up into the mountains above the lake and found quite a bit of solitude.

    Guinness Brewery

    Worth visiting!

    Mecca  — 2 years ago

I studied at Trinity College for a month back in the summer of 1993 (I think), and made the requisite trip to St James’ Gate. There’s a tour there that only cost about 2-3 pounds. At the end, they allow you to drink two half-pints of Guinness for free. If I’m not mistaken, getting a pint of Guinness for 3 pounds back then was pretty good. Find a way to bypass the tour, and you’ve got yourself a great bar.
