Amsterdam, Noord-Holland

So much more than a place to get high & look at hookers. A beautiful city with charm & culture. I can’t wait to go back.

London, England

Extremely touristy, but if you avoid Oxford Street you will not suffer from overstimulation, as I did. Don’t do those rip off bus tours – a one day bus pass on the London public buses & a good map will serve you well.

Favorite things: accents, cheese & onion sandwiches, chicken tikka masala sandwiches, pubs, Big Ben (TOTALLY worth seeing), the National Gallery, the Tate Modern (if only for the Jackson Pollock), Notting Hill/Portobello Market, the East End/Brick Lane.

Least favorite things: the mess of Oxford Street, how a lot of the food was really bland, London Heathrow airport, & the awful British-American conversion rate, although I suppose that’s not really their fault.

Red Light District, Amsterdam-Centrum

Untitled

Very tame for what is essentially rows of sex shops. Very overpriced “live sex shows”. Could totally do without the rude, drunk men. I even saw parents with very young children walking through here, including an Asian couple with a kid in a stroller. It’s worth visiting just because it’s a spectacle, but don’t expect too much out of it.
