over 3 years agoI decided to check this place out because it was right across the street from me and the hair cut prices were reasonable ($40 is pretty good for Seattle). The stylist was friendly but not annoying and didn’t yank my hair or scrape a brush on my earrings once. She actually cut my hair as short as I wanted (a problem I had the last time I went to Zero Zero), and did a good job. The atmosphere was also nice, not too gaudy and not trashy either. I would definitely go back.
Here are the hours as she gave them to me on 5/20/08:
Tues, Thurs, Fri 11-7
Wed 11-5
Sat 10-4
Closed Mon and Sun
For the record, my cut was done by Raga, the owner. I believe she said that she was hiring a new stylist and someone who would do waxing/massages soon.
I love the Wayward. Even though there are about 4 other coffee places that are a little bit closer to my apartment, if I want coffee, I’ll go to Wayward. They’re open later than any other coffee house around and while I’ve never seen the place empty I’ve never seen it overly crowded either. It’s a pretty big, open place, which is kind of rare in Seattle, and there are lots of big squishy couches to sit on, along with a nice little book shelf with lots of games. They have a good selection of drinks, including chai, mate, and bottled drinks if you’re not into coffee, and they have a small menu of simple vegetarian sandwiches. They also have a small case of pastries and vegan Mighty O donuts. The staff is really friendly and cheerful and I’ve never had a bad experience with anyone working there. They also have punch cards to earn a free coffee. I can’t think of a single bad thing to say about the place.
