Quartzite Rock Extravaganza, The Desert

A vision at the bottom of the Purple Mountains

On a journey to find work. And we came upon this little town. Most of the time it’s is this little , nothing special town, with nothing going on, and nowhere to go. It was filled with really old people, and thousands of trailer, homes. People living in the tents, And in the great Purple Mountain Deserts. Isles and isles of literally everything from rocks, to army appeal, jewelry, smoked sausage link stands. People who were all there for two common ideas. either they lived there, or they were visiting as long as the show permitted. people would come from all over the country, just like another exciting event. they would bring their money, crafts, and desert rat spirits too. On one adventure, me and my x, hiked up past the naked, & dry rivah, down past the station. we came across some deserted homes, AKA “doll houses”, they looked burnt, and nearly Tore down. we decided to snoop around, to investigate the scene. we came up to the property, and saw a distant mine upon the hill. decided to go inside the house. On the side of the house was a long, narrow, hilly rock path, that had a porta-potty just up on the other side of the hill. inside the house was a burnt bed in one room, and old news clippings form 10 or more years, old medicine bottles, long neck beer bottles, a medicine cabinet with nothing inside it. the house seemed as if something had happened, like a fire, which the tenets of the time, packed what they could and left. the mine, had purple crystals which could be chipped by a hammer, or anything blunt, with jagged edge to ease it out of it’s growth. I helped myself to some of the crystals. that night a group of us all camped out , along the fire. when the adventure was over, and we weer on our way back to the show, we all had this feeling like we had witnessed something life changing, but that it never really happened in our presence. we all I suppose made of it what we all individually dreamt.

Tuscon Forever

2nd street, 2nd Ave. Shit can’t even remember where I was. It rained, most nights, and most days too. The smokes were cheaper, the people kinda trickier, In the People with their trailers. 1800-OUR-Town, Does it still exist, was it even there, was it all apart of my lapsed imagination? Who knows and who cares. We threw a party, and all the kids were invited. We cooked up a feast, for all the kids on the streets. Took em’ in , gave them showers, and a place to lay their head. Gave them bread, and memories to fill their head. Most ,memories they faded, My visions they invaded, the spots, those damn cops and their silly town laws. I wouldn’t give to do it again, not the way I used to live. Maybe in the future, I will remember Tuscon forever.
