St. Louis Science Center, St. Louis

Untitled

This was a good place to take kids. We have a similar science museum in Idaho, but this one was much bigger, and much more fun. We took our (at the time) 13 year old neice to the center last August (2006). It was very interactive and very fun. Plan on spending at least three hours.

There is a very fun and interesting ball machine that reminds me of the game Mouse Trap. It just sends multicolored balls around the museum.

St Louis Zoo, St. Louis

Untitled

This zoo was a really great one! We spent five hours looking at the animals, and we didn’t even see everything!

My favorite was the penguins. The zoo has a good setup that allows you to watch the penguins swim and you are close to them, unlike other displays that I have seen before.

They also have a little kiddie train that takes you from stop to stop. I don’t know if its worth the ride because we had to backtrack to catch the train. It was a little fun though.

The baby elephant was put out on display the day we were there. We also saw a baby giraffe.

Parking was expensive— $10.00, but admission to the zoo is free. I believe the train was $5.00 a person.
