Just take the tour. It’s worth it.
over 5 years agoIf you’re like me and you hate crowds of tourists, visit the Sagrada Família first thing in the morning. Arrive around 8:30, walk around it – the light is best on the Nativity side which faces the east. This is the only part that was built in Gaudí’s lifetime. The cathedral opens at 9 am. I picked up a good guidebook in the gift shop and did a self-guided tour rather than the guided tour. A little tip – take the elevator up the nativity side rather than the first elevator on the Passion side. The line ups are shorter. And do go up, the view is great.
