I live about an hour from Richmond, and I do have a place in my heart for Richmond, particularly the Fan, near VCU campus (Virginia Commonwealth) and UR (University of Richmond). If you want to live outskirts, try James City or New Kent (30-45 minutes), Ashland (15 miles from Richmond via 95 North)
over 5 years agoIf you really want to go somewhere and hear English, then go to the capital. If you want to really soak and learn the culture, I suggest the mountains, like Tibal.
over 5 years agoI went to Guatemala in 1994 on a field study. It made me appreciate the small things I had as a college student and to not take hot water, my dinner in cellophane, and my freedom for granted!
