Berkeley, Alameda County

i lived here for a summer

i miss wandering Shattuck during the day and camping in Moe’s on Telegraph afterwards, eating Thai on a bench outside the park. i miss the prettiness of the Berkeley campus and the noises of the BART.

i admit, i also miss being stuck in a riot. it was the summer of 1991 i lived there, and suddenly being stuck in a crush of raging people was quite an exhilarating experience, despite not partaking in it myself.

i still have a piece of the Gap’s plate glass window, picked up off the street.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Prospect Park

each individual moment here has a unique beauty

from winter’s quiet austerity to burgeoning spring to effusive lush summer and riotously colorful fall.

every architected space speaks a slightly different language.
