Nice people - nice town!

I worked at the Fireside Dinner Theatre here for 3 months, and the residents are some of the nicest people I’ve come across in my travels. There is a relatively laid back way of life.

Don’t miss: Fireside – of course; Cafe Carpe; Frosty Freeze for ice cream; Jimmy John’s for good sandwiches; Blackhawk Pub – don’t miss the fried cheese curds, fried mac and cheese bits, and the sweet potato fries (it just can get smoky – we’re so spoiled here in NY); and the Rock River walking paths. Outlet shopping a short distance away in Johnson Creek.

Times Square, Theater District

Tips to share:

1. the TKTS booth (1/2 price theater tickets) is at Duffy Square (47th St)

2. the free 10 minute internet access at the Times Square Visitors’ Center – just enough to check your email – is right across from the TKTS booth.

3. the Drama BookShop is at 250 W 40th St – not too far away – if you are from out-of-town and looking for scripts/music/etc.

4. Cheap eats – try the Cafe Edison, part of the Hotel Edison (W 47th).

Moosewood Restaurant, Downtown

Don't hesitate

Especially if you are a vegetarian! Be sure to check out the daily special: soup, salad, whole grain bread and a drink. Good deal!
