    Erie

    Worth visiting!

Erie is proudly Erie.  — 2 years ago

Erie is like most Rust Belt towns and cities. It was once a manufacturing hub and has been dying a slow death since everything packed up and went away.

Like the title says, Erie is proudly Erie. It some instances, this is a great thing. There is not a drop of pretense from anyone I’ve met from Erie. They are proud of their heritage and their families. The Erie area is proud they are a cheap, safe place to live. If you have a family, I dare you to find a place that is inexpensive to live, with low crime, and some excellent schools on all levels. In some instances, Erie pride is what often cripples it. It still thinks it’s living in the halycon days of GE and Hammermill guarenteed jobs for all. It hasn’t learned to adapt and grow.

But, for the time remaining, Erie is still a great place to visit (especially in the summer) and to raise a family.
