    Death Valley

    Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Incredible!  — 1 year ago

I camped here for a week (at the Furnace Creek Campground) and hiked all over the Park while on a geology field trip. It’s a geologically fascinating place, but I can’t imagine how anyone (rockhound or not) could deny that it’s a beautiful place. The sky at night is a wonder…it feels like it’s about to swallow you and the stars are just barely out of reach. Don’t miss Mosaic Canyon – it was my favorite stop on the trip. Natural Bridge was fantastic also. We didn’t make it out to Artists Pass, but I hear it’s great too. GO!

    Las Vegas Strip

    Not worth it!

A review of this place: The country's capital city of depravity  — 1 year ago

The only good things I can say about this town are:

    - It’s pretty cool (at first) to be able to walk around town with beer
    - It’s amusing to watch the taxis try to run over pedestrians (taxis aren’t liable for hitting pedestrians on the strip if they cross against the light)
    - The weather’s nice in March

Other than that, it’s insulting and depressing that so many people waste money and dignity in this town. Shouldn’t we be concerned that it’s the fastest growing city in the country? Seven thousand people a MONTH are moving to Vegas. Maybe the rest of the city is great…I dunno. I can only speak to what I saw on the strip and driving down from Red Rock Canyon.

    Fort Worth

    Not worth it!

A review of this place: Not worth the trip unless you really love steaks  — 1 year ago

The city was a pit. Big. Industrial. The largest potholes I have ever personally witnessed. I thought we might have to have our rented Dodge Neon towed out of a few of them. But there was this one glorious, magnificent, fabulous restaurant that made the entire trip worth it…Del Friscos. The steak honestly melted in my mouth. So…if you must go to Fort Worth, don’t dream of missing Del Friscos steakhouse. It’s expensive, but you’ll probably never get a better steak. Make reservations, too.
