They sometimes have special food festival of certain country. Unfortunately I didn’t catch that, and it was “international food”. The food is OK.. but nothing to write home about.

Still worth doing if you haven’t been to UN.

The first few times I called the reservation line, I didn’t reach anybody. I was told to leave a message, but never received a call from them. I called again a day earlier, and was still able to get a reservation.

I quite liked the suite I stayed in, though the walk from the elevator to the room is literally over a minute. —and all 3 hallways are that long.

I tried the famous “give the checkin person 20 bucks” trick. She took it and gave us a nice suite. In comparison, the guy at Planet Hollywood (what used to be alladin) didn’t take the money and gave us a decent one, while the lady at Monte Carlo gave us a pretty bad one after seeing no 20 dollar bill…

When we told the cab driver we were going to the tram, he asked “do you guys know how much it costs?” “My kids want to do that… I’ve been in the city for 30 years and haven’t taken it ..”

Don’t expect nice sand beach here. Still it’s a beautiful beach and it’s good for a swim or sunset watching. There’re kids snorkeling too…

Go to Las Vegas…

I used to live 1 block from this place, and it definitely had very bad impact on my weight… I found the cupcakes way too sweet yet addictive.

For girls – it’s really windy up there.. so don’t wear dresses/skirts unless that’s part of your plan ..

Go after midnight if you don’t fancy standing in line for hours.

Finally I saw cheetahs! ... even though not wild ones. The zoo is bigger and better than I expected, with quite some interesting animals to see. A great day trip out of Manhattan.

Consider grabbing food elsewhere though.. unless you love deep fried junk food.

Try to learn to say “thank you” in Turkish before you go! It’s not something you could pick up in 5 minutes for sure…

I tried so hard and finally learned it on my 4th day… but was still too nervous to use it… and every tourist I spoke to seemed to have the same issue
